ICPE and the Institute of Career Studies are launching a Webinar on Being Future Ready - Making Career Decisions, that will be held on Tuesday, 7 December 2021 at 16:00. About the speaker:
 
Dr Amrita Dass is a leading Educationist and Career-Consultant of the country. She is the Founder-Director of the Institute for Career Studies (established in 1985) and has the distinction of pioneering career counselling and guidance services in India. As the Chairperson and Managing Director of ICS Education Ltd, she heads all its subsidiaries. Her biography has been included in the Who’s Who in the World 2015 (32nd Ed.) for exemplary contribution in the fields of Education and Career Guidance.

 

Dr Dass has had a meritorious academic background:

- MA, Western History, University of Lucknow; awarded two gold medals
- Doctoral Studies, SOAS, London University, as a fellow of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR)
- PhD, Western History, University of Lucknow

 

 

Business Opportunities in Zambia

On 15 May 2018 ICPE co-organised with the Slovenian Business Club Zambia an event on Business opportunities in Zambia. Director General, ICPE welcomed the guests at ICPE auditorium. A presentation was made by Ms Mojca Kopše, Center for International Cooperation and Development who discussed the potential of collaboration. Mr Stane Štefančič, Chairman of Genis, a company specialising in environment friendly IT solutions, presented the company's experiences in doing business with Zambia.

The main presentation on opportunities for doing business in Zambia was delivered by H.E. Anthony Mukwita, Ambassador of Republic of Zambia to Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia who discussed potentials of cooperation, considering the favourable demographics of the Zambian population, security and ease of doing business, and outlined the crucial industrial sectors, such as energy which may be very beneficial for the potential investors. Honorary Consul of the Republic of Zambia Mr Damian Zonta moderated the event.

The meeting concluded with a reception where the participants had the opportunity for networking and discussing in details the broad range of investment possibilities in Zambia. Zambia is a longstanding member of ICPE and ICPE has provided space to Honorary Consulate of Zambia to Slovenia in the ICPE building.

7th Annual International Conference Africa Day

ICPE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Slovenia, the Club of Former Slovenian Ambassador and the International African Forum hosted the 7th international Africa Day Conference in Ljubljana on 14 and 15 May 2018. The Conference was organized in partnership with the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, London, UK. The five member Chatam House team was headed by Dr Alex Vines OBE, Director of Area Studies and International Law and Head, Africa Programme, Chatham House.

The conference was formally opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Mr Karl Erjavec. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration, Republic of Slovenia, Mr Boris Koprivnikar and several Ministers and high officials from African countries participated in the discussions. The programme on Day One was intended to improve policy outcomes for citizens in Europe and Africa as a result of a deeper understanding and strengthened cooperation between the two continents. The key focus was on African and European cooperation on governance, identified at the 5th AU-EU summit in Abidjan last November as one of the four strategic areas of the EU-Africa partnership. Day Two was dedicated to business opportunities and economic cooperation. African countries presented economic and investment opportunities in their markets.

The accompanying cultural and academic programme took place on the sidelines of the conference and was prepared in cooperation with the Municipality of Ljubljana, the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum, the 'Konzorcij' bookshop and members of the African diaspora.
