Training programme at ICPE for the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances

A training programme has been organised and is currently being conducted by ICPE for the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India. Between 10 and 15 January 2011, 25 representatives of the government of India are participating in the programme, while a second batch of 25 participants will be visiting ICPE between 17 and 22 January 2011.

Both programmes are dedicated to management in public sector, focusing on change management and innovation in public administration. Several lectures on these topics will be given by highly renowned academics, including prof. dr. Ernest Petrič, president of the Constitutional court of the Republic of Slovenia, prof. dr. Lučka Kajfež Bogataj, Nobel Peace Prize winner with a group of scientists at IPCC - Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and prof. dr. Jože Gričar, expert on innovative cross-border eRegion development.

Both groups will be visiting some of the most relevant institutions of the Slovenian government, where best practices will be presented in practice. They will visit Ministry of Public Administration, where e-Government and anti-corruption commission will be presented, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance and Centre of Excellence in Finance, as well as the European Commission Representation office in Ljubljana. During the course of the training, the participants will visit Vienna, Austria, where they will have an opportunity to enter the Vienna International Centre (VIC), seat of the UN organisations in Vienna. They will learn in more depth about the UN, and will participate in special lectures on the IAEA and UNIDO, both based in VIC. Both groups will also visit Italy, and get acquainted with the state administration and with the progress of tourism as an economic factor.
