Meeting with H.E. Ms. Maria de Jesus Ferreira, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Angola, and H.E. Ms. Blanka Jamnišek, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Slovenia

On 18 April 2012 Mr. Janez Podobnik, Acting Director General of ICPE, met with H.E. Ms. Maria de Jesus Ferreira, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Angola and H.E. Ms. Blanka Jamnišek, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia in Vienna.

 

The main object of the meeting with H.E. Ms. Ferreira was to discuss the Plan of Action as the following step of the cooperation between ICPE and the Republic of Angola since the State became the full member of ICPE after signing the Memorandum of Understanding on 7 September 2012. After the Action of Plan proposal presentation, followed by positive and concrete discussion, H.E. Ms Maria de Jesus Ferreira supported the proposed activities as well as expressed some valuable additional advices how to intensify the collaboration among the Republic of Angola and ICPE substantially benefiting the country’s development, in particular in the fields of higher education, science and technology, and health. Moreover, H.E. Ambassador encouraged paying a visit to Luanda and personally meeting with the respective Ministers to strengthen the cooperation.

 

Furthermore, Mr. Podobnik met with H.E. Ms. Blanka Jamnišek, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Slovenia aiming to discuss reestablishment of ICPE relations with international organizations such as UNIDO and other UN entities. H.E. Ambassador strongly supported this notion and offered some concrete proposals. In addition, Mr. Podobnik and H.E. Ms. Jamnišek discussed some ongoing issues regarding the African Days, to be held on 18 May 2012 at the ICPE premises, and the 20th Anniversary of the Slovenian – UN membership on 22 May 2012.
