ICPE ADG Mr Podobnik and EM Mr Rogelj visited Budapest, Hungary

Mr. Janez Podobnik, Acting Director General and Mr. Tomaž Rogelj, Executive Manager held talks with Mr. Lounes Magramane, Ambassador and Ahmed Ouail, Counselor, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Budapest on Monday, March 4, 2013. They proposed a renewal of cooperation among ICPE and Algeria, which was one of the founding member states. ICPE was presented as a viable partner to support efficient and effective management of public sector enterprises.

Ambassador stressed that they regularly receive information about ICPE activities and that they further deliver it to the ministries in Algeria. He thanked for ICPE motion to renew cooperation. They have now “clear idea about ICPE and are motivated to “provoke local people in Algeria for cooperation with ICPE”. He suggested a new start with the ministry for SME and Clas Council.

Representatives of Algerian embassy will be glad to participate at Africa Day Event in May in Ljubljana and would be pleased to receive information about the forthcoming economic diplomacy event in June.

 

Ambassador also mentioned bilateral relationship between Slovenia and Algeria and was very keen to organize a high level political visit of Slovenian representatives in Algiers accompanied with economic delegation.

Mr. Janez Podobnik, Acting Director General and Mr. Tomaž Rogelj, Executive Manager visited the embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Budapest on Monday, March 4, 2013 to present the international conference “Nigeria Goes Green”, which will be co-organized by ICPE in Abeokuta, Nigeria on 23 and 24 April, 2013. At the meeting with Ambassador Mr. Eddy Onuoha, Mr. Muhammadu Sani Yunusa, Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Alwan Habu Abdussalam, Counselor the possibilities for cooperation were discussed.

The conference, which would be of significance not only for Nigeria, but also for its neighboring countries, attracted interest of counterparts. Ambassador suggested that ICPE also goes to Abuja, the capital of Nigeria for cooperation talks with high ranked officials. He suggested Ministry for Trade and Investment (covering PSE), Ministry of Power and Investment Promotion Council. He nominated deputy head of the embassy to organize the meetings in Nigeria and provide help to ICPE. Another institution to visit is the Chamber of Commerce in Lagos.  The following neighboring countries shall be important to be present at the conference: Ghana, Togo, Benin, Niger, Ivory Coast and Senegal.
