EU-Brazil Summit Takes Note of the ICPE's Work

Prime Minister Reinfeldt of Sweden, Brazilian President Lula and President of the Commission Barroso met on Tuesday 6 October in Stockholm for the 3rd EU-Brazil summit.

In their Joint Statement, the EU and Brazil took note of the work carried out by the ICPE within the UN framework to promote cooperation in areas of entrepreneurship and SME development, corporate governance, trade and knowledge-based society through research, training and consultancy.

Climate change and energy were the main issues at the meeting. The EU and Brazil agreed to work to reduce carbon dioxide emissions caused by deforestation.
